The operation affects the visual grammar of the image: form, contour, color, figure/ground relationship, legibility, recognition, and support:
Color is what most affects the appearance, and because of color the image becomes destabilized. the RGB separation creates shape ghosts that add noise to the image. The operation makes the image illegible when you mix it with black backgrounds that are forced in Photoshop. It is not an operation that works on its own.
7. Final evaluation and artistic reference
Operation notes / what I learned / What I liked:
Just moving the RGB channels in Photoshop does not put the image into crisis, since technically it is not possible. You have to “merge” layers and move the image and other small tricks for the image to become unstable. It is more of an elimination of information that the technical process renders unstable in the image. It is more of a glitch aesthetic than a technical crisis of the technique.
What I like is the colors the image reaches, and those soft color steps within a tonal frame.
